A CALL TO OBEY THE LORD’S COMMANDMENTS

For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto Himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 7:6 (King James Version)

We are holy people, who belong to Shaddai, because He has chosen us to be His own special treasure. Adoni kept a covenant with our ancestor, Abraham who was a man of Yahowah, given a promise by The God of Israel that He would be the ‘father of nations‘. Genesis 17:4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Abraham believed in The God of Israel by faith and the God of Israel counted Abraham as righteous.

Just as Yahowah chose the nation of Israel He has chosen ( those whom He has called) all believers today to be a part of His treasured possession. It is not because of anything we have done to deserve to be chosen, but it is because through His grace, that He sent Yah’shua to redeem His children back unto Him, through the power and the workings of the Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 6:24-25 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He hath commanded us.

And Yahowah commanded us to do all these statutes, to [reverently] fear the Lord our God and it will be accounted as righteousness (conformity to Yahowah’s will in word, thought, and action) for us if we are watchful to do all this for our own prosperity and well-being.

It is for our benefit that we follow and obey His commandments. This is a right relationship for all those who love Him. This isn’t a blanket of protection against adversity, poverty or suffering. He never promised that there wouldn’t be storms in our lives. He only promised to carry us through them. He will NEVER forsake us.

These are only things that he sets before us to see how we are going to handle them. We can have this righteousness by being obedient to His word and applying it to every test or trial or pruning that Yahowah takes us through to mark us as His own, through the refining of our heart and the renewing of our minds. It all comes down to the decision we make when we walk by the Spirit that is with-in us that daily teaches and guides us when we submit our minds to the renewing, by the power of The Holy Spirit. Taking away the Adam of self from our life and replacing self, with the mind of Yahushua.

It’s not like our Creator doesn’t equip us because He does. It’s what I call the gospel armor. We can walk into any battle that tries to overcome us in the mind, which is the battlefield, and we can step on serpents, and squash demons that would try to place a strong hold on us. We can do this by daily applying the armor of Him , Our Jireh.

What is our armor?

Deuteronomy 26:18
The LORD has declared today that you are his people, His own special treasure, just as He promised, and that you must obey all His commands.

We need to start acting like His children, obeying His commandments, since we have come into a covenant with Yah‘shua, we need to keep His commandments.

Deuteronomy 14:2
You have been set apart as holy to the LORD your God, and he has chosen you to be his own special treasure from all the nations of the earth.

Exodus 19:5
Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the nations of the earth; for all the earth belongs to me.

Psalm 135:4
For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel for his own special treasure.

Malachi 3:17
“They will be my people,” says the LORD Almighty. “On the day when I act, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient and dutiful child.

Exodus 19:5 5 Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the nations of the earth; for all the earth belongs to me..

Deuteronomy 26:16-19 “Today the LORD your God has commanded you to obey all these laws and regulations. You must commit yourself to them without reservation. You have declared today that the LORD is your God. You have promised to obey his laws, commands, and regulations by walking in his ways and doing everything he tells you. The LORD has declared today that you are his people, his own special treasure, just as he promised, and that you must obey all his commands. And if you do, He will make you greater than any other nation. Then you will receive praise, honor, and renown. You will be a nation that is holy to the LORD your God, just as He promised.”

2nd Chronicles 15: 12-15 Then they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul. They agreed that anyone who refused to seek the LORD, the God of Israel, would be put to death–whether young or old, man or woman. They shouted out their oath of loyalty to the LORD with trumpets blaring and horns sounding. All were happy about this covenant, for they had entered into it with all their hearts. Eagerly they sought after God, and they found him. And the LORD gave them rest from their enemies on every side.

Yahowah’s Promises Bring Hope
Hebrews 6: 13-20 For example, there was God’s promise to Abraham. Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying: “I will certainly bless you richly, and I will multiply your descendants into countless millions. ] Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised. When people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence. This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of heaven into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the line of Melchizedek.

Romans 5:5
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Hebrews 13:20-21 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, {covenant: or, testament} Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

1 Corinthians 2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

The reason we have this same power, that was given to us is because we wrestle with principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Yahowah gave this power to Yah’shua and Yah’shua gave it to us. This power comes from the hand of Yahowah to His Son and from the Son to His children, The Chosen Ones of Israel. We are His chosen ones as our God is the God of Israel.

“Any time you take a stand, there will come a time when you will be tested to see how firm your feet are planted.”

“The Will of God will never take you where the Power of God will Not protect you”

Psalm 14: 1-2 King James Version
Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee. Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Revelation 8:2-4 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

The only ‘new’ commandment that Yahusuha spoke was John 13:34

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Not entirely new except that He spoke it for the first time (in the flesh) and that He wanted them to love as He loved. He loved ‘to death’ and gave His life unto that end. The verse that He spoke is very simular to that which is from the Torah in Leviticus 19:18

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Yahushua in fact loved much more than His neighbor. He loved His enemies and in fact all manner of man kind. We know this because He laid down His own life for love and love is God for God is love.
