It is my opinion that in order to be over comers, we must know that which we must over come. # 1. We have an enemy. He has a name. His name is Lucifer.
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
# 2. Our second enemy is sin. We are in the race of a contest against sin, which calls for endurance, trust and faith in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 12:1-2 ¶ Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For it is written:
2 Corinthians 2:11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Paul knew of him, he even knew that it was Satan who created the mystery of the foundation. Jesus shared this truth with Paul. In Acts 26:16 Jesus knocked Paul off his horse and told him that He (Jesus) would make him a minister and a witness both of the things which he had seen and of the things which Jesus would reveal to him.
Why didn’t Paul just spit all this truth out so the mystery would be revealed? I remember when I questioned God, why didn’t He just destroy satan, He led me to this verse in scripture. Deuteronomy 32: 26 God would rather have dashed them in pieces. but if he had, it would have all been blamed on God. There will always be someone somewhere watching and if God, the God of Love had destroyed satan then, His mercy would not glorify Himself.
Romans 11:2332 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
So God is saving His vengeance for the right time so that all His saints whom believed in Him and His Son, The Redeemer, will know that it wasn’t God who hid the truth, but satan himself and he will be judged and all the saints will watch. His judgment was sealed on the cross.
Jesus died for the sin of all mankind because all mankind is guilty. It is the ones who believe in Him, that will not perish. The truth is revealed to His believers, like Paul, through the written word of God, whom is living and powerful.
Who hid the truth? The deceiver/ satan
Who is Satan? Beelzebub: the ruler of demons, the adversary, meaning accuser, who runs back and forth day and night to God saying, “Look what they are doing”.
Satan can appear as a hideous dragon Rev 12:3,4,9.
Satan appears as a beautiful deceptive angel of light 2nd Cor 11:14 He is an oppressor.
He stands hatefully opposed to the work of God. Mark 4:15 and Job 2:4-5
When Satan sinned he was expelled from Heaven. Luke 10:18 although apparently satan still had access to God. Job 1:6 A multitude of angels (whom God created, as well as Lucifer, son of morning) cast their lot with Satan in his fall and subsequently became the demons mentioned often in the word of God.
Matt 12:24 states that this fellow uses Beelzebub to cast out demons: Beelzebub is the ruler of demons. The multitude of angels was 1/3 of the stars , which are symbolic of angels. I believe I read that number to be 7,000 angels that he drew with his tail.
Satan’s doom was sealed on the cross… John 16:11 Jesus was speaking to His disciples and telling them that the ruler of the world is judged. Jesus died for our sins…. Who is the leader of sin? Satan. Even so, Satan will continue to hinder God’s plan until he, Satan and his angels of darkness are cast into the lake of fire.
Matthew 25:41 There is a place reserved for Satan and his dark feathered friends and those here on earth who have believed in him and all that he has to offer.. Do not partake of Satan and all his gifts. We are paupers for a reason. The devil would have us believe that we are poor when Satan knows himself, that we are a child of the King…… Our ministry must be God’s Ministry. Not our will but His will. Every thing we have and everything we ever hope to have must be surrendered unto God. But we must go through Jesus because His word says that no man can get to The Father, except through Him.
Our ministry will fail if we are not devoting our ministry to God; to SPREAD THIS GOSPEL by the talents which He has given. Satan and his followers will be cast into the Lake of Fire. This Fire will come from God….. His Vengeance for what satan has done. Satan spreads his ministry every single day, every single hour of each day and he will continue to until his doom.. Satan is so dammed. He is so insane that he thinks he is exalted above God and will try to even prove it by portraying himself to be God in the end times. Satan will deceive many
those many are the ones who are not watching for the signs of the coming of Jesus. He will return for his children. He said He would never leave us. Jesus said that He would protect us. Just because we die of flesh does not mean we are separated from Him. No one can separate us from God. Except God himself. Hebrews 4:12
The terrifying truth is that those who do not know Him and even those who do are blinded by Satan; do not even know that they are blinded ny him. 2nd Cor 4:4 he takes the word of God from our hearts, Luke 8:12 and he (satan) controls them.
Acts 13:8 In regard to Christians, Satan may accuse them Rev 12:20, and devour their testimony for Christ. 1st Peter 5:8 Satan will deceive us 2nd Cor 11:14 and hinder our ministry 1st Thes 2:18 and tempt us into immorality, 1st Cor 7:5 and cause us to loose our self control, our continence and Satan will even be used by God to discipline His children, like He did Job. 1st Cor 5:5 and 2nd Cor 12:7
Jesus represents us before God. God will represent His son and have His vengeance with this liar, and deceiver and trickster and twister of the word of the Living God.
Even Satan believes in Jesus. Satan also believes in God. After all, who created Satan? We have power over satan, our enemy. Jesus is our power and if we believe in Jesus, He gives us that power and it is His written word.
The Christian’s response to satan is to recognize his power and deception 2nd Cor 2:11 and Eph 6:11, to adhere steadfastly to the faith 1st Peter 5:9, to resist Satan openly James 4:7, and not to give Satan the opportunity. Eph 4:27 In practice, the best way to oppose this oppressor is to be a growing Christian.
Also in the light of Satan’s tremendous power to blind men to the gospel, Christians must always be aggressively and compassionately witnessing to the lost in order to snatch them from Satan’s control Acts 26:18.We do this by living out the word of God in our lives every single day with out exception. Believers can respond to temptation by Satan with confidence in the written word. We know that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:28-39 and Hebrews 4:12.
We must know everything about our adversary so that when Satan comes and stands on the Mount of Congregation swearing he is Jesus and showing us all kinds of magical tricks, even healing himself and using all the powers that he was given by the creator, who; yes even created satan. We must know what he looks like, even down to his grey hair. Deuteronomy 32:45 in The Song of Moses.
He is the prince of darkness, proclaiming that he is Jesus and many shall he deceive because we didn’t study and find out what he can do and what he looks like. He is the man with grey hairs as is written in God’s word. He will rain lightning from the heavens. We must remember that this deceiver will put on quite a show but we know that by nature, thunder comes after lightning. We all need to wait for the sound of Thunder.
2 Corinthians 2:11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
And the LORD said to satan, “The LORD rebuke you, satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
If satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by Beelzebub.
O Lord, let us not be ignorant of the deceivers devices to take advantage of Your chosen ones. Lord we are made aware by Your Living Word, that the deceiver moves to and fro walking back and forth on Your created earth. Father, I ask that You cause all his steps to be in stumble, as You go before us to prepare a place before us in the presence of our enemies. Open our eyes Lord and keep our eyes open to Your bright light and keep us from satan’s power over the darkness. Father forgive us and keep us sanctified by our Faith in You so that we can walk in our inheritance with You Father as our rear guard. Father, rebuke the attempts of the one who would try to trick us by his transformations as an angel of light for we know he works in the darkness. Give us Your learned eyes and dissertation in our hearts and minds so that our souls can be refreshed in Your Glory. Lord we ask that his evil works not hinder Your works in us that we may boldly go forth in Your footsteps of grace. Father we praise You that Your appointed day will come when You the God of peace will crush satan under Your feet, Just like the vision at the cross, and may Your grace here on this earth, be with us as we walk through this valley in the shadow of death for Your namesake as we fear no evil for we hold dear the assurance that You are with us.. And it is in the name of Jesus, we pray and are giving thanks for all these things we ask.
