18 ~ And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
I like the part that says that all things are of God. It makes me feel like I am never out of His order of things. Since all things are of God and I now belong to Him, nothing happens to me with out His stamp of approval. I can make a conscience determination if what I am going though is of God or of the enemy who is trying to trip me up. However, it does not matter because all things are of God. It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives with-in me because I have been crucified with Christ. God is always ordaining my steps wherever I go.
This makes me feel confidant because it is as if He is cheering me on. It is He alone, who is moving me from glory to glory, in His purifying flame.
Where once God and I were at enmity, now we are being reconciled to peace. Who I am now in God is a new creature. I am not who I used to be at all. By the grace and Spirit of Christ, I am a new creation. I am still human, but rather than my old heart, human nature, my old soul and the way I used to live is all being changed from glory to glory. Not my glory but the evidence of His.
God placed our sins on the shoulders of Christ, who knew no sin. God sees us as righteous because His Son who took on our sin is righteous. This is the ministry of reconciliation. Now because we have been reconciled, our message to share with all people is that they too can be reconciled if they call upon the name of Yahushua.
Why? Because God has given us the ministry of reconciliation. We can teach this message to others that anyone who becomes united with the Messiah, gets a fresh start simply because He offers forgiveness for our trespass against the known will of God. In exchange, we as His children receive the promise of eternity with the Most High God, the God of Israel.
19 ~ To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
The witness to us that God was in fact in Christ is that Yahushua did not run around saying pray to Me or bow down to Me. He said many times that He came because He was sent to do the will of His Father. When the disciples asked Him how to pray, He didn’t say, “pray to Me”, He said, pray in this way, “Our Father which art in heaven… Yahushua always pointed to God and not to Himself.
The whole reason I have this opportunity to be changed is because of Yahushua. The reason God does not hold me responsible anymore for my trespass is that God through Christ, is bringing me back to Himself. He knew all along that we could never make our way back to Him on our own. All this change is attributed to the forbearance of God, who has so much patience in us as humans.
Through Yahushua, we are being redeemed. All of the lessons that we learn along the way, our trials and tribulations are all testimonies to show other people that we have and live in His word of reconciliation.
The life that we live as an example is the evidence of His law being written upon our hearts. He has put His laws into our mind and written them on our hearts.
The friendship of the world is enmity (hostility) with God? Those who are a friend of the world is the enemy of God and can not be His because they are walking in the opposite direction on the path that leads to distruction, opposing His will and His law. Whoever desires to be a friend of the world makes himself or herself a enemy of God. Humanity has squandered themselves with the pleasures of the world long enough and it is time to come out of her.
Now we are Christ’s representatives. God is using us to persuade men and women to drop their differences between each other, come out of Babylon and enter into God’s work and His way of making things right between humanity and God.
The only pathway to God is through Christ who has paved the way. He is the way to the truth and the life of eternity. There is no other route.
Those who walk in His path and towards His direction, believe there is a God. We know Him as the Creator of all heaven and earth, and humankind. He has made us. He requires us to love and serve Him and to believe in His Son.
To show us how to do this He has given a revelation of Himself, which is contained in His law. We, who broke this law, have incurred the penalty, which is death. Yahushua has paid the requirement that was necessary to set us free from the law of sin and death.
Through our faith in Yahushua, we are able to undo our offences, making reparation for our offences to God. Our hearts, through the deceitfulness and influence of sin, are blinded, hardened, and filled with enmity, against our Father and our Judge. However, through faith in Yahushua, we are no longer captive to the slavery and bondage of sin.
To redeem us out of this accursed state, God; in His endless love and His hatred for sin, has given His Son for us; Who has assumed our nature, and died in our stead. We are no longer bound by the penalty of death for transgressing His law.
The domino effect or perhaps the chain reaction of His hatred for sin and His deep and abiding love for us, has commanded repentance and remission of sins, to be published in His Son’s name in and through-out all the whole earth.
All who repent, and place their trust in Yahushua, that He died for them as a sin offering, (2 Co 5:21,) will receive remission of sins.
In addition, if we abide in Him then we shall have an eternal inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
20 ~ Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
We are ambassadors for Christ. The author of this passage in scripture is the Apostle Paul. This is a very small portion of a letter written to the folks in Corinth. His prayer for them and ultimately for us is that we all be reconciled to God, through the Messiah, Jesus the Christ, who’s given Hebrew name is Yahushua. We have been given a call to re-present Yahushua to a world that is in rebellion against the will of God.
Nevertheless, it is God’s desire that none perish but that all come to Him and repent of their rebellion to live the life of riley, without a care in this world as if the whole human race is not facing a day of judgment.
Christ in us, the hope of Glory. It is because Christ lives in us that we have the hope of glory. It is the expectation of our faith and confidence in Christ that we will bring honor, power and glory unto God and His great name.
Everything that God has promised through out His word is where our hope of glory rests. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He, who is faithful, always keeps His word.
