Healing Faith

Are you struggling today?  Do you need a healthy dose of truth?  Well grab a cup of coffee, come back, and read some truth about healing faith. Take a few minutes this morning to be encouraged in your faith.

Rather than seeing The God of Israel as a loving Father, satan wants us to think that Yahwey is somehow angry at His creation and this makes God appear frightening.

The Puritan preacher Jonathan Edwards became famous for a sermon called, “Sinners in the Hands of and Angry God.”

In graphic detail, Edwards described a soul hanging over hell like a spider on a thread.  “Thus it is that natural men are held in the hand of God over the pit of hell; they have deserved the fiery pit, and are already sentenced to it; and God is dreadfully provoked… The devil is waiting for them, hell is gaping for them, the flames gather and flash about them, and would fain lay hold on them and swallow them up.”

While it is true that the God of Israel cannot abide in wickedness, it is also true that His desire is that none perish but that all come to repentance and receive His forgiveness.  While some preachers use fear to turn people to God, that motivation is toxic and in turn teaches toxic faith.

When I hear preachers use fear as a tactic to get people to warm up their altars, I want to just puke. The burden of fear is a tool of satan and He uses it about as often as he uses lies in religiosity.

Just so you know the truth, satan is the author of evil and is an expert on religious faith. He began his career as a leading angel in heaven and this is where he learned first hand the power of God and the purpose and plan that God has for the earth.  That is, before he rebelled and was forced out.  However, that experience gave him knowledge because he intimately knows Yahweh’s plan and purposes and has been trying to pervert Yahweh’s plan ever since he was cast out.

Having been present for the creation, he knows how minds work and he uses every tactic in his arsenal to use the mind as his battlefield. The devil is not the least bit shy to use human kind and especially the pulpit to get his message across. With all that inside knowledge, he is a dangerous enemy. Nevertheless, make no mistake about it, he and his tactics produce toxic faith.  While the enemy is using false teachers to turn people to God using fear, that kind of motivation usually doesn’t last long and why would it?  Who would want to serve a sadistic God, much less spend eternity with Him?  If the enemy can cause fear to rise up in Yahweh’s children then he has achieved his goal because he has completely used fear to rob us of our joy and truth.

He works hard to make Yahwey look like He is angry and spiteful, however I am here to tell you that fear is false evidence appearing real. The enemy knows the truth that Yahwey is loving, kind, generous, faithful, peaceful, just and forgiving.  The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.   The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary.

No one can measure the depths of His understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. However, those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits arebeing renewed every day. This is healing faith.

The right kind of faith will lead us in the direction of peace and contentment. Not every moment is happy and not every prayer is answered.

Life with Yahwey is not always sunshine and roses.  His Son Yahushua even gave us a promise that in this world we will have tribulation but not to fear because He has overcome the world. Believing that God loves us puts life’s difficulties into it’s proper perspective because we have the promise of a happy and healthy faith, the kind of faith that will help us overcome all of life’s problems if we only put our trust in Him.  That is all that Yahushua asks of us, is that we trust Him.

What a believer knows is that nothing can come our way that a double-barreled blast of faith and belief will not help. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.  I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord Yahushua. This is healing faith.
