Who or What is the Holy Spirit?

Ephesians 1:13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The word here tells us that when we heard the message of truth and the gospel of our salvation in which we also believed that we were sealed by the promised Holy Spirit, Who is a down payment of our inheritance similar to a validating signature on a contract.

The Holy Spirit is the sacred and holy breath of eternal life, a guarantee that we belong to God .  The Holy Spirit is our guide Who will help us too both mentally and physically work out our salvation through a spiritual and rational sound mind,  utilizing God’s power and love.

The Spirit with-in us, helps us to be willing servants to all that God has purposed for our lives.  I believe that the Holy Spirit teaches us how to be humble before a Holy God and encourages us through the word so that our hearts can be healed and revived of the brokenness , or times when we have been mentally and or spiritually bruised or oppressed.

I also believe that just as Yahushua was led through the wilderness,  the Holy Spirit will lead us all the days of our life; daily opening our eyes and ears so that we might understand the scriptures.  It is by the power of the Holy Spirit Who reveals to us the hope of His calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance.

Paul said in Ephesians that it is because of the Spirit that when we read His letters that we are able to understand his knowledge in the  mystery of HaMashiach and that this mystery was not made known in other ages to the sons of men.   You can certainly understand why some of the folks do not understand Paul or even believe in him because they apparently do not have the Spirit of God to lead them into all truth.

Not to mention but I will, we need the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God is part of that armor.  Paul tells us that praying in the spirit is to accompany us while we are armored up, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

This is why we need to stay grounded daily in the word too because without it, the sword of the Spirit will become dull and loose it’s sharpness that equips us to be able to discern the thoughts and intents of our heart if we are yielding to our soul and spirit or our humanness of joints and marrow.  The power of the Holy Spirit is the assistant that helps transform us from the taste that we enjoy now, into the full flavor of what we will experience when we take on our new body in the eternal Kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit is vital to us because we need the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit daily so that we can find our way through the evil darkness that is so prevalent in this world holding folks captive.

One of the greatest aspects of the Holy Spirit in my opinion is that it is by the power of the Holy Spirit that Yahushua dwells in our hearts by faith and it is this power that keeps us rooted and grounded in love so that we know of His love as He passes knowledge to us so that we become filled with the fullness of God. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit that demonstrates the genuineness of our faith and trust in Yahushua Who has secured eternal life for us.

Christ in us, the hope of Glory.
