We just never know what kind of field we are working in from day to day do we?
We never know if we going out to plow in shallow soil or maybe if we are heading in to fallow ground that has already bore a harvest and the seed may have begun to rot. We may be sent into fertile soil that has already been worked by the one… that the God of all creation has sent before us.
Sometimes we find a field with huge heavy stones that need to be removed before the soil can even be worked. I think, it is the Holy Spirit who goes in before, to open up and break the clods of the soil. Some times maybe the ground has been so beaten by strong winds or torrential rains or maybe we might find weeds that need tended to. Maybe there are times when the soil has just been so mistreated that grass or weeds wouldn’t even be able to take hold and grow. Sometimes the ground has seen such a harsh winter that it doesn’t seem like it will ever recover. We just don’t need to worry about these things. We just yield to the Holy Spirit and go where we are sent to work the field.
Some soil might go through a pretty heavy season or maybe a drought and sometime the soil may even appear to be barren, but God….
But then along comes another farmer who is sent to work that same field and The Creator sends with him, a little pouch; full of seed to drop in the soil where the furrow has prepared the soil. Seedtime & harvest, It really is all about the seed. The God of Israel said, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” The harvest will not be brought in until He commands that it be so. He owns the field and we are the workers. All order of nature is ordained and restored by the God of Israel.
Many laborers may be called into one field, and we may only make one pass, and then He will send someone else along to plow again because some soil really does require more than one pass of the plow. The last one however will plow a furrow in the soil, which prepares it for the seed. But God…..
He alone knows the times and seasons, there may be a time for plowing, and a time for sowing and harrowing, and a time for reaping, and a time for threshing, or beating, and bruising, but only the God of creation has the wisdom to know what is needed. He alone will send what ever is needed as the case may demand.
So the worker may go in, day in, day out. Maybe the worker is sent to check in on the seed once in awhile to see if it has taken root and has begun to sprout. A little water here if the soil is thirsty or maybe Yahwey might send someone with a little fertilizer to promote growth; that provides the main nutrients that He knows is needed. This will help the little sprout to encourage it to keep striving for the sun. Much preparation in prayer is needed for each new season, always praying that Yahwey send more laborers into the field.
Luke 10:2 Therefore said He unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth labourers into His harvest.
We just continue to pray to the Lord of the harvest to bless the work of each fellow farmer, and the farmer is thankful that tomorrow is another day. The sun will rise and the sun will set, but nothing will prevent the harvest.
There is much work to be done and we thank Him that we can even breathe, walk and work the plow or thank Him for the hands to plant the seed of His word. I thank Him today for all the hard work done by those who worked the field yesterday while on their knees. His word does not come back void.
We trust in and His word, that it will accomplish that for which it was sent. We may never see the efforts of our work, but He does and that is all that matters. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. We just take His yoke upon us, learn from Him and remain meek and lowly in heart and at the end of each day, we will find rest unto our souls. The Lord will stregnthen us with His joy.
Thank You Father for Your promise of seedtime and harvest and for Your Holy Spirit, who will daily tend to Your seed. In the name of Your Son Yahushua, ~ Amen
