2016 Study of Pentecost ~ By Eudora

In the letter written to the Romans, Paul said that his heart’s desire and prayer for Israel is that they might be saved. {Romans 10:1} Then later in Romans chapter 11 in verses 26-27, Paul said the following: “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.” Paul sounds a bit more confident here because earlier he said it was his heart’s desire and prayer that Israel ‘might’ be saved and now he is saying that they ‘shall’ be saved.

Notice that Paul said, ‘As it is written’. In our Bibles in the book of Psalms, we find in a Psalm of David, He is singing, “Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of His people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.” {14:7}

The LORD spoke through the prophet Joel that He would bring ‘again’ the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem.

Joel 3:1-2 ¶ For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted My land.

This has not yet happened so we know that this is still a prophecy to be fulfilled in the future. Joel also goes on to discuss things that John saw in the sixth seal. The prophet Joel also prophesies about the end-time Day of Judgment upon the nations who persecuted Israel throughout history and those who do so during these end-times. At the same time he prophesies about the redemption of the people of Israel and the re-establishment of the Holy Temple of God on Mount Zion, where He, the God of Israel, will again dwell in Jerusalem, His eternal capitl, the capital of His People Israel.

Here the words of the prophet Zechariah: 1-6And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep, And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof: And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof. So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord? Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

The prophet Zechariah saw the Jewish House of Judah in Israel repenting and receiving Messiah rather late, even as Jerusalem was surrounded by armies at the close of this age. He said that Israel would not be saved by power or might. We can absolutely trust then that the deliverance of Israel will not come by the power or might of their army. But how did The God of Israel say through the mouth of the prophet Zechariah, that He would bring the two olive trees together? “By My spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

What did The LORD say through the mouth of the prophet Jeremiah about saving a remnant of Israel and singing with the gladness for Jacob?

Jeremiah 31:7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. What did Jeremiah record in this very same chapter?

Jeremiah 31:31-34 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Let’s observe the Torah regarding the presence of the Spirit. The scriptural instruction for counting to the day of Pentecost or the Feast of First Fruits is recorded in Leviticus chapter 23: “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. (Verses 10-11)

The Feast of Weeks that we now call Pentecost, only last’s one day. The name Pentecost originates from the fact that there is an interval of fifty days between Passover/Un-leavened Bread and Pentecost. Pentecost or Shavuot has many names in the Bible, the Feast of Weeks, the Feast of Harvest, and the First fruits. The name “Feast of Weeks” was given because God commanded the Israelites in Leviticus 23:15-16, to count seven full weeks (or 49 days) beginning on the second day of Passover, and then present offerings of new grain to Hashem as a lasting ordinance.

The first time that Yahwey brought the law to Moses, He visited His people after their exodus from Egypt and through Moses, He brought the Law down from Mount Sinai. Pentecost represents the same day that Moses brought down the Law in stone; the same day as the LORD brought the Spirit down to put the law into the hearts and mind of the people in chapter two of the letter of Acts written by Luke to Theopholis. What did Peter say in verse 16 and 21? He said that Joel had prophesied about this day, that it would come and in verse 21 Peter made a reference to Joel again saying that Joel had said that it shall be that everyone who shall call upon the name of Yahwey, will be saved.

Because of sin about three thousand fell in the wilderness because they sinned against Yahwey when they broke covenant. They died that day by the sword of the Levites because they sinned against Yahwey by creating and worshiping the golden calf. But in the New Testament on the day when the Spirit of God fell upon all those gathered, the exact same number mentioned in the Bible of about three thousand were filled with the spirit because they believed, & repented when they heard the gospel; they were baptized because they were forgiven of sin, transgression of the Law. That is what sin is.

1st John 3:4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

This feast day is a reminder that fifty days after the God of Israel delivered the children from captivity in Mitsrayim (Egypt); setting them free from slavery and bondage, He then gave the law, His Teachings thereby establishing a nation. His Teachings are the boundaries that keep them established as a free nation. He wouldn’t have brought them from slavery in Egypt just to place them back into slavery and bondage to a set of rules. This was His way of giving His people boundaries to worship Him, thus teaching the whole camp, His righteousness and His way.

People in the camp would make poor choices and turn their back on the God of Israel and worship other gods. These people transgressed the law even though they knew that the penalty was death. This was however, temporary because one day, One would come Who would set them free from the law of sin and its penalty of death. We can look at the waving of the loaves of barley to be like Yahwey, accepting the waving away of sin. This feast is a reminder to us all that Yahwey has accepted the wave offering, making things all new and fresh because they had given their best as a token of their affection and gratitude for the land of promise. By this they were reminded of the bounty of Yahwey in His plentiful gifts of the fruit of the earth, and of their duty to offer up their prayers for His blessing on the next new fresh harvest.

On Pentecost the God of Israel came down to His people in the form of fire on the mountain. Now, He comes to His people individually and personally inside their heart and mind.

And a new thing it certainly is when we are given a down payment of the Holy Spirit as our comforter and guide to lead us into the knowledge of all truth and lead us through the passage of the rest of our lives, living in obedience to all that Yahwey has commanded.

One of the neatest things that I learned is that from the day that I was given the token of the Spirit of Yahwey; is the mere fact that I will never ever be alone again. No matter what comes my way and no matter how hard life will get, I will always have the encouragement of the Spirit to guide and teach me how to get through the ruff days and also how to appreciate all the blessings that come to those who walk out their lives in obedience to His Teachings and Instructions.

It is by the grace of Yahwey that salvation comes. And it is by faith in the atoning blood of the Everlasting Covenant that we find redemption. There is no other salvation, no, not anywhere. The Blood of Israel’s Sacrificed Lamb provides the only means of salvation and peace with Yahwey to be found under heaven. This salvation is graciously provided by the God of Israel for all who believe. And it is given freely to all who are willing to embrace Him and repent for their transgression of His Law written in Torah, the first five books of the Holy Scriptures. He is the Almighty God who always existed, is now, and ever shall be. This is His salvation plan, the only one He ever laid out. And the blood of atonement is the essence of the New Covenant. Israel’s prophet Jeremiah spoke of the New Covenant, 600 years before the cross. (Jeremiah 31:31-33) The author of the letter to the Hebrews spoke of it again in chapter eight when the author wrote that there would not have been a need for this second covenant where Yahushua paid for the penalty of all who would transgress God’s Law, if those who did not keep covenant with Yahwey had not been found faultless. If they had taught the law to all nations and all nations had kept His law as it is written, Yahushua would not have had to die to pay the penalty of death for all those who deserve death.

The weakness of the first covenant was not the Law {Torah} which is holy just and good. It was and still is the inability of the people to trust in Yahwey that the rule that He gave; is able to teach them right from wrong and that all one needs to do is obey. The same Law that God gave at Mt Sanai is the very same Law that He is putting into the mind and writing in the hearts of those who are His people. This is being done by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is still the inability of folks to trust that the law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. ~ Psalm 19:7

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. And many people shall go and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths; for from Zion shall go forth Torah, and the Word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And He shall judge among the nations, and shall decide for many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more… But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of Hosts has spoken it.” (Isaiah 2:2-4, Micah 4:1-4)

In these latter days right now, The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement are calling Israelites and the entire world to be ready for the coming end-time godly, heavenly, and earthly events that the prophet Joel, along with all the prophets of Israel, prophesied. Time is very short and all of these events are soon to come. Even though the infilling of the Holy Spirit began with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, Joel saw this coming to a peak at the 6th seal at the very end of the latter days. ~ Joel 2:28-32 /Isaiah 13:10

Everyone needs to accept all of these prophesied events that The God of Israel, our Father and Creator spoke through the prophets, with an open and pure heart. He is getting ready to open-up a great and wonderful age that will lead not only the Israelites but the entire world to a perfect moral and godly redemption. Before that happens, all the peoples of the earth must yearn for redemption, so there first must be a time of great trouble. I for one can hardly wait to sit under my own vine or fig tree and know that the entire world is at peace and I shall not be moved by prayerful concern that somewhere in the world, people are dying in some war, somewhere. The peace that passes all understanding will have finally come when Yahushua has come to rule and rein in the Temple that He shall build.

Zechariah 6:12-13 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of the LORD: Even He shall build the temple of the LORD; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon His throne; and He shall be a priest upon His throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

Yahushua will be ‘both’ King and Priest in a two-fold anointing; through the order of Melchizedek who was also King and Priest. Yahushua will provide the council of peace through and by way of ‘both’ offices in the Kingdom of God. He shall judge among the nations and no more will any nation lift up their sword against any other nation.

Paul also speaks in chapter eleven of the letter to the Romans about the Olive Tree branches being brought together becoming a sharer of the root and the fatness of the olive tree. YHWH-God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Our individual actions gain us nothing. The restoration of the Israelite heritage and inheritance will come because of both the name and the grace of The God of Israel, the name given to His family. This restoration will also come because the God of Israel made a promise to Abraham, so only those who stay humble and give Him all the glory will continue in the truth and the life by the power of the Holy Spirit. For the Law of the Spirit of life which is in Yahushua Messiah set me free from the law of sin and death. Only the Law of the Spirit of life, which is in Yahushua Messiah can keep me free, if I love Him and keep His commandments.

YHVH-God’s righteous rule will surely come and the nation of Israel will be restored under Messiah but as it is written, not by might or by power. The restoration will not come by seducing religious humanism or a fetish for equalism by the spirit of deception, or by the military might of a crusading church domination. It will only come by YHVH -God’s Holy Spirit; the same power that came down on the day of Pentecost because there truly is … power in the precious blood of The Lamb that was slain on Mt. Calvary, the promised seed of Abraham.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

We as the collective and His seed are those who are in Christ… Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
