How Did We Get Here?

So exactly how did the bulk of humankind go from observing Sabbath as a seventh day of the week as God commanded, to observing the first day of the week on a Sunday?

Let’s look at the Protestant Ten Commandments next to the Ten Commandments

Yahushua commented the following in regards to putting human traditions in place of His law. I don’t think that He was only speaking to the teachers of the oral law. I think He was also prophesying into the future when the Catholic church would THINK to change God’s law and seasons, just as Daniel said.

Mark 7:6-9 GNB says, “Jesus answered them, “How right Isaiah was when he prophesied about you! You are hypocrites, just as he wrote: ‘These people, says God, honor Me with their words, but their heart is really far away from Me. It is no use for them to worship Me, because they teach human rules as though they were My laws!’ “You put aside God’s command and obey human teachings.” And Jesus continued, “You have a clever way of rejecting God’s law in order to uphold your own teaching.”

If a person does a Google image search, you can easily find this photo used at several different web sites. If I knew where it actually came from I would certainly credit that person. I had a Catholic Bible in our home that I purchased for five dollars. It was a very old one dated back in the late 1800’s. It had already been monkeyed with and the Sabbath made to sound as if it could be any day that one might choose. I promptly got rid of it. Some of the newer modern day Bible’s like for instance the Saint Joseph Edition, the new American Bible published by the Catholic Book Publishing Company copy written in 1970 is not so bad in its wording.  It still resides in our home with my vast collection of Bibles.

I honestly believe that Isaiah was prophesying into the body that there would come along a group of people who would begin teaching a doctrine that was contrary to God’s instructions. In the time that Jesus walked this earth and had His ministry, this contradictory teaching had already begun. This is why Jesus reiterated the words of the prophet Isaiah saying that Isaiah was right in calling them hypocrites because even though they honored Him with their lips, their heart was far away from Him and that it was no use to worship Him because they taught human rules as though they were God’s laws! He even told them that they had a clever way of rejecting God’s law in order to uphold their own teaching.

A QUOTE FROM Priest Brady, in an address reported in The News, Elizabeth, New Jersey, March 18, 1903.

“It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.”

But here is the thing. If we obey God and keep His Sabbath day Holy, we give our allegiance to God. If we obey the Commandment of the Catholic Church and keep their day Holy, who do we give our allegiance to then?

—I do not intend to offend any of my Catholic friends or even my Christian friends but the truth is that the catholic church actually changed the Ten Commandments of God that were given to Moses and all the churches different denominations stemmed off from the catholic church. Don’t believe me, look it up for yourself. Do your own research.

The Catholic Church even admits that they have changed the seventh day Sabbath to the first day Sunday. Anyone can look it up on the internet. The church has their reasons and I will not go into it, only to say that it is fully the intention of the Devil himself to divide the body because it is the fourth commandment that is a SIGN as to who we worship and give our allegiance to.

Here is a quote from father T. Enright, C.S.S.R. of the Redemptoral College, Kansas City, in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas, February 18, 1884, printed in History of the Sabbath, p. 802

“I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says, ‘Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.’ The Catholic Church says: ‘No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week.’ And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in a reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church.”

Like I said, anyone can search the internet and find this information on their own. The problem is that the catholic church has believed for many years that they have the right to change God’s law. In my personal opinion, it is completely ‘silly’ to think that mortal man can change the laws of the Creator of this universe.

The ten utterances that He spoke to Moses, are laws which God personally wrote in stone. Of a truth, —a copy of the original set of the Ten Commandments that remain unchanged in the heavenly sanctuary are seen by John in His Revelation letter from Messiah Yahushua. Something else to be aware of is that we also never find anywhere in the New Testament where Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. But we do have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day – the 7th day of the week, Saturday.

I will say one more thing regarding the catholic church and it is this: Most Catholics are not aware of these things because they are not spoken of or taught in Sunday Mass. Nor is it told to their followers that millions of people like myself were tortured and murdered by the catholic church. This is a matter of historical record which can be found in thousands of history books. The Catholic Church used to persecute whoever didn’t agree with it. But make no mistake about it, many Christians have been murdered in the name of atheism too. Here we are in our own life time hearing and seeing videos of Muslims being beheaded because they have apostatized from Islam. ISIS will kill their own if they do not agree with them. They are even killing Christians. Out of all organized religions, the Hebrew nation as a people, have by far suffered the worst oppression and this will escalate even more so the closer we get to the return of Messiah. How do I know? I read the Bible.

I keep hearing that the catholic church is at this moment in time, trying to establish a ‘law’ that every human observe Sunday rather than God’s instructed commandment of the seventh day Sabbath. I personally believe that there will come a time when history will repeat itself. Each one of us who confess Yahushua (Jesus) as our savior will one day have to make a choice. I do want to warn you though that you should not read these truths on an empty stomach because the things that went on will make you physically sick.

There appears to be no consensus on whether Jesus, His disciples, or apostles celebrated the Lord’s Day on Sunday. There seems to be no internal scriptural evidence that would justify the Christian church changing the day from that commanded in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament).

I suppose that in later centuries, moving from Saturday to Sunday may have been beneficial if for no other reason than to improve the security of Christians by distancing Christianity from Judaism in the eyes of the government. It certainly did not help to be considered a Torah observant believer during the Dark Ages. The entity (Catholic Church) that officially changed Sabbath to first day observance was done so purely out of Roman Greek thinking. For the Romans, religion was first and foremost a social activity that promoted unity and loyalty to the state. If one was not loyal, they were dealt with. There is physical documentation out there now proving that Constantine did not actually convert to Christianity but that he used Christianity to establish the Christians loyalty to Him because both the army that he fought with and the men in his own army were vastly Christian. He couldn’t beat them so he made it appear as if he were a Christian in order to win them over so that he would become the Emperor of the Roman Empire. In the arc that he erected in his own honor, no evidence of Christianity is seen. This was just discovered here recently when the arc was closely examined by archeologist.

WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF YOU? Deuteronomy 10:12 & 13

10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

10:13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and His statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

  1. Fear God . (respect, holding in highest honor, and loyalty)
  2. Love God.
  3. Serve God with all your heart and soul.
  4. Keep the commandments, all ten and not just nine.
  5. Not forgetting to shew mercy and walk humbly. Mathew 22:36-40, Micah 6:8

Micah 6:8 He hath showed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

My suggestion to everyone is look up the definition of what sin is, according to the scripture. I also personally do not hold a grudge against the catholic church as an organized religion because I am fully aware that the enemy of God is the devil and He is the one who is working behind the scenes and is using the catholic church to do his work. All of this that is going on behind the scenes was prophesied in BC 555: “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change TIMES and LAWS: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” ~ Daniel 7:25

But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

– Deuteronomy 5:14
