“SCRIPTURE THOUGHTS” ~ Hebrews 8:10

Sabbbath, April 4, 2015

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith יהוה; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them Elohim, and they shall be to Me a people:

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohim, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For Elohim shall bring every work into judgement; with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.~ Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

This is ‘not’ the whole duty of a Jew. This applies to all man. It is Yahwey Who will bring every good work into judgment…. to man.

Mankind will be judged by Elohim according to how he performs his own duty. The question then arises, what is that duty that is to be judged?

Fear Elohim and keep His commandments because the judgment is based on how mankind keeps Yahwey’s Torah.

Speak ye, and so ‘do’ as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. ~James 2:12

Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

According to Paul, those who sin without the law will perish with out the law. If there is no law to judge mankind by… then how shall those who do not have the law be judged?

Likewise… those who sin in the law will be judged by the law.

Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before יהוה, but the ‘doers’ of the law shall be justified.

There is only one law. Yahwey did not give two different laws, one for the Jew and one for the Greek. According to Paul, the ‘doers’ of the law shall be justified.

Always keep in mind that the reward that Yahushua is ‘bringing with Him’ is to give every man ‘according as his work shall be’. The reward is based on how we are judged. If we are judged worthy, our reward is eternal life.

If we are judged unworthy, our reward is eternal death and we will forever be separated from Yahwey because we are dead, no longer living in His presence.

Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Luke 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

The law stands forever because not one little mark written there-in shall fail. The law is perfect. It is the law that converts the soul.

Psalm 19:7 The law of יהוה is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of יהוה is sure, making wise the simple.

Yahwey never had a theology to abolish the law. Yahwey never changed His part of the arrangement with the people who call upon Him as their Elohim. He declared all His blessings on those who would keep His law because these are His instructions for mankind. In order to receive His blessing, mankind must keep and do His Torah, His Instruction.

Torah is instruction. If you are a child of the Elohim of Israel then you are considered an heir to His promise and therefore you are a part of His family called Israel. He is the God of Israel and we are His children.

The LORD did not re-write His laws or His arrangement between man and Himself. The wages of sin is still death, just like it was 6000 years ago.

Yahushua proved the He could do what we could not do without Him to guide us. He kept that covenant with His Father FOR US as a living and breathing man.

By doing this, He showed us and instructed us to follow Him and do likewise. The only difference is that He kept Torah in the same human body that we have.

His death saved us from the penalty of the laws which required death as a result of our sin.

Because His Spirit lives with-in us and because Yahwey has placed His instruction deep within the heart and mind of every true worshiper, we are now capable to keep and do the same instruction that was given over 6000 years ago to our forefathers who were not all able to do so on their own.

Yahwey found fault with ‘them’ and they continued not…. in His covenant as is written in Hebrews 8 verse 8 and 9.

Before Christ we could not stay in covenant. However, now we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us. Yahwey assured us through His prophet Isaiah, that He would ‘bind up the testimony’ and ‘seal the law’ among His disciples. – Isaiah 8:16

The seal is placed in the heart and the mind of the true worshiper of Elohim. This is the sign of circumcision, a sign of the righteousness of the faith. We are the servants that are being sealed in our foreheads for it is a scientific fact that it is in the forehead of the human brain where mankind makes decisions.

The question remains…. Do we love the Lord our Elohim with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind and with all of our strength in Christ or do we not? It is up to us to show our duty by loving Him and keeping His commandment because if we love Him…. this is what we do.

John 14:15 If ye love Me, keep My commandments.

If all we have is obedience and no love, then our obedience is in vain. If all we have is love and no obedience, then our love is in vain.

Come… let us reason together and let us celebrate the blood that is the token upon the houses where we are… the sign that is written in blood…. that we are walking as we should be on the very same path as our Messiah.

We are no longer aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenant of promise. We have hope and we are not without Elohim in the world.

Colossians 1:27-29 To whom יהוה would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is the Messiah in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in the Messiah Yahushua: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Messiah in us…. the hope of glory.

Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am יהוה that doth sanctify you.

Ezekiel 20:12 Moreover also I gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am יהוה that sanctify them.

Ezekiel 20:20 And hallow My Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that ye may know that I am יהוה your Elohim.

Keeping the Sabbath Holy as Yahwey commanded is a profession of our faith as much as baptism is. The Sabbath is a sign of Yahwey just as the blood was upon the door post of old.

According to scripture… those that keep His Sabbaths are the ones who are santified by Him because doing so is the sign that proves that He is keeping covenant between Him and us.

The Sabbath truly is the sign that we are His people and He is our Elohim. Just to be clear… the seventh day of creation is still the Sabbath day. The Seventh day is not the first day of the week. Yahwey does not change.

Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of יהוה thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

These scriptures regarding the sign of the Sabbath do not say or specify that the sign is only until Jesus dies on the cross. The word says…. ‘throughout your generations’ . Even the angels know that they are to keep His commandments.

Psalm 103:20 Bless יהוה, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word.

Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Paul was quoting Ezekiel the prophet.

Ezekiel 20:21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against Me: they walked not in My statutes, neither kept My judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted My Sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish My anger against them in the wilderness.

Now that we have His law in our minds and heart thanks to His Holy Spirit, it is far easier to hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear Elohim and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man.
